Bangkok Riders Take on Sepang International Circuit: CBR600RR WinterTest
Last week, Bangkok riders crew led by Honda Racing Thailand, embarked on an unforgettable TrackDay at the iconic Sepang International Circuit. Known for its MotoGP pedigree, Sepang’s sweeping corners and challenging straights provided the perfect playground for this much-anticipated Sepang Wintertest.
Arrival and Preparations
The journey began with a flight from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur, landing us at the luxurious Sama Sama Hotel. After a quick check-in and some well-earned rest, we geared up for two adrenaline-filled days at one of the world’s premier racing circuits. Spirits were high as everyone prepared their machines, eagerly anticipating what the track had in store.
Day 1: Racing in the Rain
The first day brought an unexpected challenge—rain. The iconic Sepang track, slick with water, demanded a shift in strategy. Equipped with rain tires, we braved the wet conditions and navigated the complex corners with care. Despite the downpour, the thrill of riding on such a historic track made every lap unforgettable. The experience tested our skills and focus, underscoring the importance of adaptability in racing.
Day 2: Perfect Conditions for Speed
Fortunately, day two brought perfect weather. With the sun breaking through, the track dried quickly, allowing us to switch to slick tires and truly unleash the potential of the CBR600RR. Sepang’s demanding layout, characterized by its fast straights and technical turns, required precise braking, sharp lines, and constant attention to bumps. After learning the circuit’s intricacies, we powered through five intense 25-minute sessions.
We’re already counting down to the next TrackDay. Until then, the memories of Sepang will keep us inspired to push harder, ride faster, and keep improving.
Pushing Limits and Achieving Goals
Riding at Sepang is as much about physical endurance as it is about skill. The track’s complexity demands sharp focus, and every lap felt like a battle against the clock—and ourselves. By the end of the Wintertest, our group achieved a proud milestone: securing the 35th fastest time out of 58 riders. This achievement was the culmination of hard work, teamwork, and a shared passion for racing.

This Sepang Wintertest was more than just a TrackDay—it was an adventure, a challenge, and a celebration of our shared love for speed. Riding the CBR600RR on such a demanding circuit was a dream come true for every rider involved. The event not only tested our skills but also solidified our bond as Bangkok riders, united by a passion for the track.
